Mother Gayathri- Mantra

Mother Gayathri
and Power of Gayathri Manthra

"Om bhur'bhuvah svah tatsaviturvarenyam bhargo

devasya dhimahi dhiyo yo nah prachodyat"

Gayathri is the Mother of all the Vedas. Her three names are Gaythri, Savitri and Sarswati. These are present in each one of us. Gaythri is the master of senses. Savitri is the master of prana or life force and Sarswati is the godess of speech. These three represent purity in thoughts, words and deeds.

Rishis have selected the words of various Mantras and arranged them in such a way that they not only convey some meaning but their chanting also creates specific energies arround the chanter.
Gayatri is a mantra, which inspires righteous wisdom. It is a universal prayer.
It means that the Almighty God may illuminate our intellect, which may lead us on the righteous path. This is the most important prayer. All the problems of a person are solved if he is endowed with righteous wisdom.
A wise man intuitively finds solutions to all his problems. The worship of Gayatri mantra bestows the boon of righteous wisdom. The teachings of and the powers incorporated in Gayatri mantra fulfil this purpose.
Righteous wisdom starts emerging as soon as Chanting (Jap) of this mantra is taken up as a Sadhana.

"Om bhur'bhuvah svah tatsaviturvarenyam bhargo

devasya dhimahi dhiyo yo nah prachodyat"

Om ~ Brahma or Almighty God
bhuh ~ embodiment of vital spiritual energy (Pran)
bhuvah ~ destroyer of sufferings
svah ~ embodiment of happiness
tat ~ that
savituh ~ bright, luminous like the Sun
varenyam~ best, most exalted
bhargo ~ destroyer of sins
devasya ~ divine
dhimahi ~ may imbibe
dhiyo ~ intellect
yo ~ who
nah ~ our
prachodyat ~ may inspire

In short it is a prayer to the Almighty Supreme God, the Creator of entire cosmos, the essence of our life existence, who removes all our pains and sufferings and grants happiness beseeching His divine grace to imbibe within us His Divinity and Brilliance which may purify us and guide our righteous wisdom on the right path.
A man gets imbued with divine qualities contemplating and meditating on this meaning of Gayatri. One should contemplate on these feelings daily and regularly.

1. “The Almighty God, who is known as pranav pervades all the three Lokas, viz, Bhooha-lok, Bhuvaha-lok and Swaha-lok. He is Omnipresent. The cosmos is physical manifestation of God who pervades its each and every particle. I am seeing Him everywhere. I would always refrain from evil thoughts and evil deeds and perform true worship of God by extending cooperation in promoting happiness, peace and beauty in this universe which is His creation”.

2. “This (tat) God is extremely bright (savitur), most exalted (varenyam), devoid of sin (bhargo) and divine (devasya). I visualise this Divinity within me, in my soul. By such contemplation, I am becoming illumined, virtues are growing in all the layers of my being. I am being saturated with these virtues, these characteristics, of God.”

3. “That God may inspire (prachodayat) our (naha) intellect, wisdom (dhiyo) and lead us on righteous path. May our intellect, the intellects of our family members and of all of us, be purified and may He lead us on the righteous path. On getting righteous wisdom, which is the greatest achievement and is the source of all the happiness in this world, we may be able to enjoy celestial bliss in this life and make our human life purposeful.”

By such contemplation, the meaning of Gayatri Mantra is fully assimilated in the heart of the Sadhak. The result is that in a short time his mind gets diverted from evil thoughts and evil deeds and he starts taking enthusiastic joy in righteous thinking and good actions. Howsoever little this tendency may be in the beginning it is almost certain that if the practice persists, the inner-self of the Sadhak becomes more and more awakened and the ultimate aim of life draws closer and closer.

GAYATRI DHYAN (MEDITATION)

Human brain is an extremely wonderful cosmic computer. The activity, movement and potentiality of each of its cells leaves even the greatest of scientists awestruck. Great energy is generated in the direction in which these cells are applied. All the physical energy of a person is diverted in the direction of his desires, aspirations and cravings. Emotions first arise in human mind. When the mind concentrates on such emotions a magnetic field is created which attracts the desired elements from the atmosphere. This is the science of meditation. On this basis (AdiShakti) the power of the primordial energy pervading the interior of the nature can be attracted by the Sadhak towards him and retained by him within himself. Gayatri should be meditated upon daily at the time of Jap or at any convenient time.

The Sadhak should sit for meditation in a secluded place having calm and quiet atmosphere. Mind should be steady and the body relaxed. While meditating during Jap one should sit in cross- legged position, keeping the backbone straight. When not meditating with Jap one can sit on an easy-chair or take the support of a large round pillow, wall or a tree. Body should be relaxed, as if it is lifeless. Eyes should be closed, both the hands should be rested in the lap and it should be visualized that nothing but a vast blue space exists everywhere. At the time of Pralaya (universal annihilation) nothing survives except the blue sky or space. A mental picture of such a stage of universal annihilation should be drawn in imagination and when it is fully established, a small round mass of light should be visualized in distant space by inner vision. Thus Gayatri should be meditated in the form of a small brilliant star, as bright as the sun. With development of concentration in meditation this round mass of light comes more and more closer and becomes bigger and brighter.

Just as a person sitting in the sun feels warmth, similarly the proximity of Gayatri in the form of a mass of light suffuses the Sadhak’s mind , his inner-self and his entire body with divine light. Just as iron, when put in the fire, becomes red-hot, so also, when the Sadhak retains the brilliance of Gayatri within himself during meditation, he becomes one with the Almighty Goddess, becomes a rishi, radiant with Brahmateja. He feels as if his whole body has become red hot like pure gold and a celestial, divine, sun-like light shines through him. The impurities, sins etc. of the Sadhak’s soul are burnt out in this light . He feels himself god-like, pure, fearless, pious and detached.

When this Sadhana becomes more mature and profound, the brilliance of Gayatri stabilizes in the middle of the brain or heart. This is the stage of attaining Siddhi. When the Sadhak attracts that brilliance from the outer space and settles it within himself, a stage is reached where his body and Gayatri’s life force combine at one point. Just as a person, under the influence of an evil spirit, acts according to the will of the latter, so also after establishing Gayatri within himself, the thoughts, actions, behaviour, feelings, tastes, desires, aspirations of the Sadhak are oriented towards selflessness and universal good. Progressively, animality decreases and divinity increases. This is the ideal form of meditation of Gayatri. When the Sadhak meditates on Gayatri in the form of a mass of light, he should feel that along with its rays, wisdom, virtuousness and divine energy are being infused in him. When the Sadhak comes out of such a meditation he feels that the proportion of wisdom, purity and refinement has increased within his mind and body. The Sadhak in due course, becomes a store of divine light (Brahmateja).

YOUTHS OF TODAY

Youths of Today - Future of India ?

Education and higher education have become so costly these days that many students are finding it very difficult for their fees and to cope up with studies.

All these shows a total ignorance and neglect on the part of concerned officers of the education departments. They can’t understand the implications of their decisions to hike the fees.

Why can’t one study? Why can’t he choose freely what he wants to study?

Why there is a competition?

Why can’t be admission given on the brain power than the power of marks?

Youth of today are neglected by the country, where, they are going to live rest of their life, where, they have to find support for their living, where, they have to grow and nurture their own family and give birth to children, future of India.

Every child is longing for security, love, happiness and peace.

When you don’t get what you are looking for and also when you are deprived of what you have, one becomes direction less.

There is, lack of role models for our youths, as such it is difficult for younger generation to march forward towards creating a better world for themselves. Because of this today’s youths are not connected to the country directly.

Patriotism and love for the country can only come if there are patriotic values set for children to follow.

Today’s youth are wasting their energies instead of concentrating and working towards achieving their targets.

As elders talk ill about the country and the leaders. Youth are also developing negative attitude towards the present state of our country and the leaders.

Neither political leaders nor the so called upper society people are concerned about the youths of our country. This has led to a uni-directional journey for youth to earn more and more money.

This trend is dangerous to the society as youth will be adopting different easy ways to make money.

Possessing valuable items has become status symbol. Present day youth want to keep pace with higher and higher level of materialistic possessions.

Free market culture, undue influence of the media and mind blowing advertisements promotes this dangerous culture. Easy availability of credit cards and bank loans have made many bankrupt in the family.

People especially the youths have forgotten the value of Independences the cost paid by our Rastra Bhakts. We should blame ourselves for this miserable state of affair.

But despite all the above, I see a ray of hope in the eyes of youth and young generation.

Yes they will change the face of our society to a new modern socio spiritual culture. A culture which will finally lead to the spiritual awakening of all our citizens for creating an enlightened society.

MARRIAGE - An act to realise Brahma

What’s a marriage?
A marriage is a personal social obligation. To make human species to keep evolving we need humans to have union and keep the continuity of generations. No religion says that marriage is bad. Yes, Hinduism says that Brahmacharya is always better to get spiritual powers in ones life for enlightenment to illuminate the life.
“ Marriage for the satisfaction of the sensual appetite is no marriage. It is concupiscence” - Mahathma Gandhi
Marriage is neither holy nor unholy. A marriage is a partnership of equality, gentleness, generosity, calm and dedication. Each is complimentary to the other, giving strength and moral courage to each other, supporting and appreciating the other in caring and providing for the family.
As per Budhist teaching marriage is a partnership of two individuals and that this partnership is enriched and enhanced when it allows the personalities involved to grow. Marriage means understanding and respecting each other’s belief and privacy.
Humans work very hard for happiness right from the time he or she gets into the senses. Due to ignorance, one is not able to understand what exactly gives happiness. He is not able to differentiate between happiness and pleasure. He then understands that what gives pleasure gives happiness and to be happy is to experience pleasure.
Children born out of pleasure of union are then nurtured to keep the continuity of generation in a healthy social life. Emotions and Intelligence are the gift which God has given to human beings. We all evolved from monkeys. You see how a monkey keeps its dead child embraced to his body till it start giving smell. Yes we learn the emotions of humans through the biological acts.
Marriage ensures that this responsibility of human being is upheld and carried on. Institution of marriage provides a fine basis for the development of culture, a delightful association of two individuals to be nurtured and to be free from loneliness and fear.
Suitable and understanding wives and husbands are a gift to a marriage. In marriage each partner develop a complimentary role giving strength and moral courage to each other.
Each manifesting supportive and appreciative recognition of others skill in caring and providing for the family. No thought of superiority on one another comes. One must feel complimentary to the other in calmness and total dedication with utmost faith on one another. Marriage is a worshiped institution where you need to adjust to each other, learn to give and take what is given in return. It teaches tolerance to the young couple.
A feeling of security and contentment comes from mutual understanding which is the secret of a happy married life. Patience, tolerance and understanding are important disciplines to be observed and practiced by all people in marriage.
Young generation must listen to their elders before taking decisions on marriages as it may lead to a miserable situation later. Practice of keeping the loved one and friends and relatives as witness to the marriage and getting their blessings are to create a fear of society in the couple to live in harmony and respect each other and become an acceptable member in the society.
One must become unselfish and care deeply the person they love. They must make enormous sacrifices and develop love and understanding to ensure happy and stable marriages.
Freedom in marriage should be considered in a union of two not otherwise. Accepting to follow one path is always leads to a successful marriage. Do not think that old fashioned ides are different from the modern thoughts and the modern society. There are some eternal truths of culture which never gets out dated. Modern thoughts presented through medias do not represent the majority of Indians. Whether it is Ekata’s TV serial or a movie with plural marriages. What is being represented in the mass media are just not even one percent of Indian culture.
Yes, these are the terrorism against our culture.

PURITY OF SOUL

PURITY OF SOULWe live our lives in a state of sleepy stupor – unaware and insensitive to what is happening around us and within us. We are unable to distinguish between the right and the wrong, the good and the bad, the pure and the impure, thus letting ourselves be effected by all that we see, hear, eat and touch.

Picture yourself buying fruits and vegetables: Of course, you only want the best and the most fresh for your family; and after all, you are paying a big sum to the vendor, so what do you do? You pick and chose, you fuss and sort till you have singled out the finest, top-notch fruits and vegetables for your precious loved ones. Aren’t we picky when it comes to buying our money’s worth of groceries for our family? But how is it that we forget this virtue of discrimination and fastidiousness when it comes to selecting thoughts, experiences, and emotions, even food and television programmes, for ourselves? Why aren’t we ‘awake’ or aware then?

We are assaulted by hundreds of sights, sounds and people everyday. We just need to learn to be a little careful and observant and accept only those that are good, positive and beneficial for us. Accepting anything or everything that comes our way will blemish our mind, body, emotions and consciousness. If we continue to ignore what we choose, it will darken our soul and make it impure. When that happens, we don’t even realize that we are diseased – it becomes our natural state and way of existence. We are hardly alive then.

The Purified soul is the satvik soul, the awakened consciousness. Awareness comes only when we are ‘awake’. And we are ‘awake’ when we have the courage and power to discriminate what we get in life and decide to accept only the good and the pure. We are awake when we don’t simply flow along the river of life, accepting all that touches us or passes us by.

“ So dear God, every morning when I wake up, please give me the strength to be awake, the strength to accept good things and the strength to remain good. Thank you Lord.” This prayer will make one connected to supreme soul.
